The surge of data has made it important for technologies for handling it to be developed. For data to be transferred and stored easily, data compression technologies have played a big role. Different techniques are used by this technology. There are two major methods namely lossless and lossy. They help achieve the desirable data size by basically modifying the data. The lossy techniques removes data which is not mandatory when lossless removes redundancy. Their name might suggest that data is loss but that is not the case. They ensure that the data which will be transferred contains the intended data to be transferred.
Given that data compression improves speed and saves on bandwidth, it is important in computing. The compression of data has become easy given that there are many applications for the task. These applications have different features. The many operating systems available require different data compression techniques thus developers of data compression technologies have made provision for the numerous operating systems. When data compression technologies have been employed, it is possible to achieve the correct size of data which can be transmitted through a system. Storage is another factor which has led to the continuous development of data compression.

The bit rate for encoding data varies. This ensures that the target device will be able to decode it easily. Hardware equipment which is required for data compression for data sets is different.
The Attribute vector coding technology algorithms have been implemented in various software. It categorizes most of the data which have close similarities. Attribute vector coding is critical in data compression since it is implemented in an array. Similarities are used in this technology given that it employs arrays. Because it relies on the same characteristics of elements in an array, removal of redundancies is employed during compression. The technique which is put in place in this case is lossless.
For the purpose of security and transmission, word encoding is of great importance to computer devices. Word encoding converts data into codes which can be transmitted quickly. Computers only understand codes. With word encoding, it is possible for computers to be used to transmit the data to the target destination. There are various application word encoding in the real world. Since it can eliminate some parts of data, it uses lossy technique of data compression technology thus making is part of data compression. Word encoding makes difficult for middlemen such as hackers to interpret the data being sent. Decoders can easily interpret what has been encoded by the source of data.
